Just be mindful that, while Copacabana is lively and fun, it’s slightly more touristy and can attract pickpockets, so stay alert, especially in crowded areas. But if you want to experience the beating heart of Rio, with all its grit and glamour, Copacabana is a neighborhood that shouldn’t be missed.
Leme
Leme is a hidden gem in Rio de Janeiro, offering a quieter and more relaxed vibe compared to its bustling neighbor, Copacabana. While it’s not as famous as Ipanema or Leblon, Leme’s charm lies in its simplicity, making it a perfect spot for those looking for a more tranquil yet well-located stay in Rio.
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is one of Rio de Janeiro’s most charming and authentic neighborhoods, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich history and vintage charm. Closer to Rio’s downtown and known for its stunning views of Sugarloaf Mountain, Botafogo is a fantastic option for budget-conscious travelers.
